My Name is Eddie and I am a Phone Whore
My name is Eddie and I am a phone whore. There I said it. Now I can let the healing process begin.
What is a phone whore you ask? The dictionary defines it as:
phone whore
one who goes through new phones like a teenage girl goes through boyfriends.
Yup that pretty much defines me. Since 2003, this is the list of cell phones I have owned (not sure about the order though) (they are all the Sprint version):
- Samsung N400
- Samsung A500
- Samsung MM7400 x 2
- Samsung MM5600
- Sprint PPC-6700
- Samsung A900 x 2
- Samsung A920 x 2
- Treo 650
- HTC Mogul
- HTC Touch
- Sanyo Katana DLX
- Motorola RAZR V9M
- Samsung M520
- Samsung Upstage
- LG Fusic
- Sprint Connection card (not a phone but I still think it counts)
I’m sure there are some that I am missing but that’s all I can remember right now. Thats 19 devices in 4 and a half years. Do I have a problem? I think I might. But I like trying new phones to find the one thats right for me.
So far, my favorite would have to be the HTC Touch. I liked the size of it and it felt nice too. It ran Windows Mobile, which for a techie like me, is a must. Since there are no Android phones yet, and very few carriers are releasing Linux phones, Windows Mobile is the next best thing. I can check all of my email accounts from it, add programs like pocket putty, but more importantly, I can write my programs for it (if I choose to). I’ve had a few Windows Mobile phones but this one was the best because of its size. It was a very small form factor (in terms of pda/phones, and in general too I guess) but still had a nice sized screen. Until HTC’s new phones come out (Diamond and Rafael I think) come out, the Touch is the way to go. Just ignore the silly people using the fake PDA phones (crackberry).
